Making the Work Day Better for 165,000 People

JOIN US

Formed in 1966, the Public Service Alliance of Canada is one of Canada’s largest unions. A truly national union representing 165,000 members from coast to coast to coast, the PSAC also maintains an international profile through its representation of members who work abroad in embassies and consulates.

The PSAC features a diverse and growing membership. While the majority of our membership is employed by the federal government and its agencies in a wide range of occupations, a growing number of PSAC members are employed by private sector enterprises operating in women’s shelters and universities, in casinos and in security agencies, to name but a few.

There has been an attack on the middle class. Corporate thinking in business and the Government has led to a widening in the income gap. The only defense from this co-ordinated effort is Collective Bargaining.

The belief that individuals can do better for themselves is the myth, not the reality. There is strength in numbers. Why do you think employers fight so hard to be “union-free”! Unions do make a difference…

Do you or someone you know work in unsafe conditions, below the poverty line, or for more than eight hour days?

The PSAC wants to help. Contact us and we will help you along the path of helping yourself.
