Who is eligible to vote?
All Canadian citizens age 18 or older can vote in the January 23rd election.
How do I make sure I’m registered to vote?
Elections Canada will be mailing voter information cards to all registered voters early in the campaign. If you don’t get a card by January 15th, or if you need to correct information on the card you receive, contact Elections Canada, 1-800-463-6868.
If you are not on the voters list, you can register through the Elections Canada returning officer for the riding you live in until January 16th. Phone Elections Canada, 1-800-463-6868, to find out how to contact your returning officer.
If you leave it until the last moment, you still can register at the polls during the three advance poll dates set for January 13,14 and 16; or at the polls on election day January 23. You will need to present proof of identity and residency, for example, photo ID like a valid drivers license, and/or ID that shows residency like a bill. Go to www.elections.ca

When are polls open on January 23rd?
Voting times are staggered across the country to ensure that election results are generally available at the same time regardless of what time zone you live in.
For most B.C. voters who live in the Pacific Time zone, the polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM For those in the Kootenays who live in the Mountain Time zone, polls will be open from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM
I’ll be away January 23, or I plan on volunteering on election day. Can I vote in an advance poll?
